You can find the Design Contest details and rules here. The card was to be sent out to "loyal UC supporters, donors and friends." They were looking for original holiday artwork in any medium.
Because of because of my
previous roles at UC, I knew the University's brand standards, style and audience.

UC and its donorship are a diverse community. I chose
icons which represent the winter season as well as Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.
